![]() ![]() This song were on my player since this game came out. You can hear them a several times, but most epic is “Final Fight” song. Band called " Undercode " also did a great job. But not only him did soundtrack to this game. Damjan Mravunac did a great job as always, 'cause any of his songs fit so well. Especially you can see it in moments of battle: music get so intense, It's just great. Main storyline is about 6-7 hours of gameplay, but I will say that these hours were totally worth it, 'cause it's very interesting to look how Sam will get out of trouble.ĭefinitely one of the biggest plus of this game is music. Suddenly one rocket hits a helicopter and Sam falls from helicopter on building. Game starts when Sam with a couple of soldiers flying trough sand dunes, and they get to the city. In this game (Serious Sam 3:BFE) we will learn the background of how he got into the past and how humanity lost in war with Mental. Sam Stone was chosen as the most powerful person on Earth, and he is sent to the past to prevent the extermination of humanity. Mankind tries their last chance and use new technology which was uncovered. At this time Mental try to take over the Earth, and he starts a war. One day, mankind made a huge discover - uncover thing called 'Time-Lock'. I'll admit that this is not the strongest side of this game, but who need complicated plot when you have so much action on the screen? So here is the plot: Humanity gets to the point when Earth has exhausted all resources, so humans try to get a new source of resources. There is also a lot mini-bosses like this: ![]() Basically, these are strange monsters, such as a headless kamikaze, or skeletons with horse hooves, there is even a large dinosaur robot that will launch rockets at you. There are many types of enemies that you can kill. Now about the enemies that you will destroy. If you are too lazy to kill enemies with weapons, then you can get close to enemies and kill them with your bare hands. If you don't want to shoot, you can grab a chainsaw and cut the enemies into pieces. In Serious Sam, you have many weapons to kill enemies, such as: rocket launcher, minigun, sniper rifle and even medieval weapons. It’s exciting and you feel like a complete and utter badass when you manage to survive. The gameplay is simple, as it can be - just shoot everything that moves. ![]() Now keep in mind that this is EACH combat sequence, and most of the time you’re fighting all of those enemies at the same time. By the time things get really rolling, your average combat setpiece will have thrown at you the following:Īpproximately 50-100 fodder soldiers with handguns, machine guns or shotgunsĪbout 50 spider-things who spit acid from afarĢ5-30 skeletal horses who charge you and hurl balls & chains at youĢ0 bionic brains with legs who shoot lasersĪn assortment of other large enemies/demons who hurl fireballs or rockets at you. The Sam games are notable for the sense of scale they present, and the same goes for the combat. Each level is enormous, packed with secret areas, and are well-suited to the massive combat scenarios you’ll encounter. Luckily, by the end of the second level, things pick up, and you’ll be murdering enemies by the thousands in no time. When playing a Serious Sam title, one expects certain things, and picking off enemies in groups of two for the first 20-30 minutes is tedious. At worst you might groan at the cheesiness, but I had a good chuckle at a few of the better ones.Ĭuriously enough, the first couple levels of the game are poorly paced. Along the way, Sam will crack wise with Duke Nukem-style one-liners, but unlike Duke’s latest foray, they won’t have you recoiling in horror each time. Once again, the game takes place in an abandoned Egypt, and Sam needs to, well, shoot everything that moves, activate two alien artifacts, kill the Guardian of Time and save Earth. As anachronistic as a game of this style is in 2011, it’s a welcome one - a reminder that the past was really fun, but sometimes progress can be a good thing. Serious Sam 3: BFE (no, that does not stand for Best Friends Edition) stands as a testament to the old school of shooter, where levels were large and maze-like, enemy AI simply determined how fast they ran straight at you, keycards were still in vogue, and our heroes could carry twelve ridiculous weapons at once. ![]()
